How it Works....

Drivers are Independent Contractors and only drive the days they are available!  This makes this opportunity an awesome and fun way to make some extra income!!  Drivers pay in a percentage of their sales at the end of the day. Usually this amount is approximately 66%.  It will fluctuate based on weather, holidays and availability. Drivers have averaged over $29 an hour over the past 4 years!

Spots are very limited. Drivers must be over 21 years of age, be able to pass a background check and have no more than 1 moving violation in the past 3 years. Click on the envelope to request to be added to the next information meeting and Driver Training!. Please send your name, address, phone number, age and availability.

A Day in the Life...,

Each day drivers must arrive by the set time, (usually between noon and 2 depending on the day of week and weather). Drivers must enter the shop quietly as other drivers may be counting product. The freezer inventory must be inventoried and double checked before departing from the shop.  Each vehicle must be signed out by shop staff and the driver. Drivers must bring start up cash to give change to customers. We strongly recommend drivers sign up for some type of credit card processing as Cashapp is not safe as customers can cancel the order right after you drive away.

Most of the drivers use Square. YOU WILL LOSE HALF OF ALL SALES IF YOU ARE NOT TAKING CREDIT AND DEBIT!  Drivers are responsible for all monies collected during the work day, even in the event of loss or theft. We also strongly recommend some type of cross body bag or belly pouch/fanny pack.

Ice Cream Shirts can be purchased for $5..

Drivers MUST obtain their own business license and permit before renting an ice cream truck.

Drivers must either already have liability insurance that covers them to drive any other vehicle like commercial broadform or obtain it before working.  I cannot provide you vehicle information on a particular vehicle as the assigned vehicles can change daily.

Drivers are required to attend an hour-long training and sign all required paperwork before working.

Before returning to the shop drivers must replace all fuel used and fill the truck back to Full with PREMIUM FUEL! This is a tax-deductible expense for the driver. There is a $15 lease fee daily that helps cover maintenance that is non-refundable in the event of a short notice call out or no show

End of Day cashout can take up to an hour but usually about 20 minutes and is by appointment. (Within 30 minutes of sunset)

Trucks must stay in Pierce County and are not permitted to enter freeways, Canyon Road or the Narrows Bridge.  The trucks speeds are governed at 40mph. Safety training will be completed.  Most of the vehicles are 3 wheeled type vehicles.

All other information will be covered at the training.
